Genex is a full load freight transportation intermediary. Established in 1963 in Chicago, Illinois, we operate as a non-asset based INTERMODAL MARKETING COMPANY (IMC) and HIGHWAY BROKER (MC # 243392).
Our roots are firmly embedded in the intermodal industry. As a pioneering “shippers’ agent”, we took part in the early growth of the rail’s “piggyback” TOFC (trailer-on-flatcar) / COFC (container-on-flatcar) service. We recognized the benefits of domestic containerization and helped our shipper customers take advantage of that increasingly important option.
We expanded our full load service by acquiring our highway brokerage license in 1992. We currently have six staff members that have earned the TIA’s designation of “Certified Transportation Broker”.
While our operations are centralized in the Chicago suburb of Northfield, Illinois, we service most any origin / destination pair throughout North America.
We remain an independent, family owned firm that takes pride in providing truly personal service!
